Instructions for Packing Broken Scientific Glass

Safety First:
Wear protective gloves and safety goggles to avoid injury from sharp edges.
Ensure you have a clean, flat workspace to avoid further breakage.

Gather Materials:
Sturdy cardboard box
Bubble wrap or foam padding
Packing peanuts or crumpled paper
Heavy-duty packing tape
Labels (e.g., "Fragile", "Handle with Care")

Prepare the Glass:
Carefully collect all broken pieces, regardless of size or condition.

Wrap Each Piece:
Individually wrap each piece of glass in bubble wrap or foam padding.
Secure with tape.
For extra protection, double-wrap larger pieces.

Box Preparation:
Line the bottom of the box with a layer of packing peanuts or crumpled paper.
Place the wrapped glass pieces in the box, ensuring they do not touch each
other or the sides of the box.

Fill the Box:
Fill any gaps between the glass pieces with packing peanuts or crumpled paper
to prevent movement.
Add a final layer of packing material on top to cushion the contents.

Seal the Box:
Close the box and seal all seams with heavy-duty packing tape.
Shake the box gently to ensure there is no movement inside. If there is, add
more packing material.
- Label the Box:
Clearly label the box with "Fragile" and "Handle with Care" stickers.
Include any other relevant information, such as "Broken Glass" or "Scientific
Equipment".
- Shipping:
Take the package to your shipping provider and inform them of the contents
to ensure proper handling.
