A Bunsen burner is a common laboratory device used to heat substances and perform experiments. It consists of a metal base with a gas inlet and a vertical metal tube that contains a gas valve and a flame control. The gas inlet is connected to a gas supply (usually natural gas or propane) that is mixed with air and ignited to produce a hot, blue flame. The height and intensity of the flame can be adjusted by controlling the gas flow and air mixture using the gas valve and air vents.
